Job Description Job Description Job Title: Material Handler Forklift Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler Forklift Operator to join our team. You will undergo a two-month training period where you will learn about various metals and operate sit-down forklifts. The role involves material handling within the warehouse, using forklifts, and verifying order accuracy. You'll also set up and program saws, assist customers, and input orders into our computer system. Responsibilities Operate sit-down forklifts to pull materials within the warehouse. Measure materials to ensure correct orders are processed. Set up and program saws for cutting materials. Make initial cuts and verify dimensions. Complete the cutting of full orders and ensure accuracy. Assist customers with their orders and provide excellent service. Work on a computer to input and manage orders. Essential Skills At least 1 year of warehouse experience. 6 months of measuring experience. 6 months of forklift experience. Ability to read a tape measure. Basic math and fraction skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in the metals or steel industry is preferred but not required. Prior warehouse experience is preferred. Computer proficiency for order management. Caliper experience is beneficial. Valid driver's license and clear motor vehicle record for future driving responsibilities. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a non-air-conditioned warehouse, operating Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with a 1-hour lunch break. The environment is warm, so appropriate attire includes pants, a t-shirt, and steel-toed shoes. The facility is smaller in size, allowing for a close-knit team atmosphere. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of POMPANO BEACH, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
